WORK IT OUT FEAT. GAP

As the temperatures increase so does our anxiety of that impending three-word phrase:  bathing. suit. season.  

What's a girl to do when she's been pigging out on comfort food to combat those terrible chilly temperatures?  If you're anything like me, you automatically rationalize the need for new workout clothes to get in shape.  Totally makes sense right?  

Lately, I've been loving GapFit - Gap's exercise clothes.  They're affordable, cute and have a great fit.  Bonus - you can usually find some sort of sale online.  Here are my favorite GapFit picks!

Notes:
3 - I have these in grey and black and live in them!  Barre, running, errands... I need 8 more pair so I can stop doing laundry every other day!
5 - I think I am up to 5 colors in this tee!  I have a mix of smalls and mediums depending on the need/mood.
7 - This sports bra comes in bra sizes (i.e. a number and letter) and fits like a glove.  It's also got a hook and eye closure so you can tighten or loosen it depending on your chest.  Genius!

My advice:  If you're trying to revamp your workout wardrobe, invest in a variety of styles (long sleeve, short sleeve, tanks..) in a matching color palette.  This way you can mix and match but it will still feel like a put together outfit.  Maybe even try matching your sneaks!

RECENT BUYS

Even though I haven't done as much shopping as I've wanted to lately, I have done some.  Here are some things I've bought in the last couple of months:

SHIRTS UNDER SWEATERS

{note...wrote this post back in January and forgot to post...}
Lately I love...

pairing a button-down under a sweater.  It's such an easy way to create a new look from not new items.  For the cold weather, it's also warmer {and cuter} than just wearing a tee under a sweater.  Need more proof?  I wasn't kidding when I said I've been loving this look...evidence below {there's more where that came from}.



Have I made you a believer?  If you're just starting out, start with some basic solids, chambray and maybe a black and white gingham.  *note - black and white gingham is one of the best investments I have ever made!

BIT BY THE SHOPPING BUG

{excuse my absence...been supes busy at school}

I have been bit by the shopping bug - I am in a total shopping mood!  M is not pleased as we are having to pay a small fortune on my car this week...  Am I the only one that gets affected by a season change like this?  If I had an unlimited budget, I'd pick up these goodies:

2013, HERE WE COME


So it's here...the new year!  I'm not exactly all for new year resolutions but for the sake of a blog post, there are a few things I'd like to accomplish in the next 12 months.


- Find our dream house {within our budget, of course} and then become a DIY, tool-wielding champ!


- Lose a few pounds and maintain it...doesn't everyone pretty much aways want this?


- Blog more...


- Do more things with friends


- Cook and bake more often {this may not help out with the losing a few lbs...}

WHAT I WORE: NYE

I totally forgot to take a picture of my outfit last night...bummer!  I totally loved my outfit too!  Here's the general idea:



I wore a J.Crew sequin tee, Alexa Chung for Madewell leather skirt, Stella and Dot jewelry {earrings, bracelet}, black tights and Tory Burch flats.

It was chilly, so I layered with a leopard scarf and black velvet coat!
