EMMY FASHION FAVORITES

Here are some of my favorite fashions from last night's red carpet (in no particular order):

Ginnifer Goodwin

As a VOLS fan, I love the vibrant orange color.  I think the detail in this Monique Lhullier dress is amazing and I love the coordination with the shoes.  I think the belt/sash reads a bit pleather/cheap, but the minimal make up and styling is a great partner to this intricate dress.

Ariel Winter

I love the maturity that this young girl has in her fashion choices.  Totally age appropriate yet super sleek and stylish.  Well done, Ariel.

Leslie Mann

Pockets, a top knot, floral lace, and a full skirt.  You had me at pockets.

January Jones

I think the color and the detail is amazing - it's definitely a show stopper with that side embellishment and shape.

Alexi Ashe
(Seth Myer's wife)

I love this pattern - it almost appears metallic.  The silhouette is very flattering and the simple styling reminds us that her husband is in the spotlight.

Edie Falco

This Stella McCartney is amaze!  The front cut outs are genius and I love the split color.  It is so simple yet I've never seen anything like it.  Needing a metallic belt now... {not loving those little pieces of hair in her face}

Jeannie Mai

Simple hair, small lace overlay, flowy white fabric, great belt - check x 4. I love this dress.  Unfortunately there's also a check for sweat marks.  Boo.

Nicole Kidman

This tribal beading detail is glorious.  It puts a futuristic alien spin on an otherwise plain white dress.

And some misses:

Mayra Veronica

This is so Jessica McClintock prom circa 2004.  And the gloves?  Also - not sure why she is here.

Pheobe Price

Someone has been watching too much Gypsy Wedding...  The dress is bad enough and then she adds those shoes!  They look elfin with that odd toe and they clash with the dress and her hair!

p.s. Who called the 90s and asked for our faves to come back?

WEDDING REVEAL: PICTURES

Ladies, ladies...calm down.  I am back!  For now.  I have been crazy busy at school {working 7am-6pm and then more at home} most days.  I am hoping that things will slow down and give me some time to get back here.  Fingers crossed.

Because I know you've all be dying in anticipation, I'll kick off my return with wedding pictures!  The day was absolutely perfect and it was perfectly captured with our amaze photog John Shim.

My simplistic and perfect Lula Kate wedding gown.

My Mom made my niece's flower girl dress.  The fabric matched mine and was pretty stinking cute!

Badgley Mischka sydney pumps

 Something old {my great grandfather's pocket watch}, something new {custom made necklace} and something borrowed {Mother-in-law's pearl bracelet}

My husband's gift from a groomsman...  There's a story there.

Brooke from VIBE is a total master!

I pulled a Princess Kate and did my own makeup, following a tutorial at Sephora.

 One of bridesmaids' gifts was monogrammed button ups..and how about that gorgeous suite at The Oliver.

We tied my something old to the bouquet!

How could I skip having a giant bow on the back of my dress!?

The whole look {with the veil my mom made}

I was so impressed with how the wedding party turned out - the black and white was so sharp! {Bridesmaid dresses from Ann Taylor - no longer available}

Did I mention it was 107 degrees in Knoxville that day?  Any breeze was welcome!

The cake tasted as amazing as it looked! {Cake by Magpies Bakery, topper from TOPS Malibu

We got married in a little park in the middle of downtown Knoxville - it was intimate even though there was a crowd across the street watching!

Thanks to my bff for painting this!  {And yes, we get it...we played it up}

We danced our socks off... {and I switched out the white sash for this black sash}

..and left through sparklers!

Happily ever after -Sarah
